Industrial Environmental Quality Committee

The Industrial Environmental Quality Committee (IEQC) is composed of individuals from Industry, NJDEP, industrial operators, POTWs & Industrial Pretreatment Coordinators, attorneys, manufacturer's representatives and members of the consulting community. Our primary goal is educational and to provide a link between the industrial, public and regulatory sectors. It provides a forum to pool ideas through informal sessions, network with peers and talk about problems in order to work out common solutions and develop a strategy for better overall communication in regards to industrial waste treatment and compliance.

The IEQC sponsors several programs each year including Technology Transfer Seminars and a program at the NJWEA Annual Conference each May. An Industrial Awards Program also recognizes outstanding industries for excellence in wastewater treatment and compliance (see below for more details and photos of previous award winners).

The IEQC meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9:30am.  Our meetings are held either via Zoom/MS Teams or in person at various POTWs or consulting firms.

We are always looking for volunteers and members to join this active committee which is dedicated to helping industry cope with evolving environmental regulations. IEQC Mission Statement

in

INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT AND COMPLIANCE

Nominations are being accepted for awards in Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Compliance which are presented annually during the Annual NJWEA Conference in Atlantic City, NJ in May.  The awards are to recognize companies that have achieved outstanding performance in the design and/or operation of industrial wastewater treatment systems and have maintained environmental compliance in New Jersey.

The awards are sponsored by the Industrial Environmental Quality Committee of the NJWEA. There are two awards presented annually. The Ernest Ecker Award is presented for Excellence in Wastewater Treatment Technology. There is a certificate associated w/ the Ecker award that may also be presented to an individual in good standing w/ the NJWEA. The Compliance Award is given to a facility that has demonstrated an exemplary track record in compliance with environmental regulations or voluntary environmental improvements.

Criteria for Eligibility (Treatment Award):

1.   The company nominated may be any industrial treatment plant, pre-treatment plant, or a design or operations firm involved in the industrial wastewater treatment field in the state.
