WATER AND WASTEWATER LICENSING EXAMS CANCELLATION NOTICE AND UPDATE

Dear Water and/or Wastewater Exam Applicant:

You are receiving this notification because you are scheduled to take a Water or Wastewater exam on March 31st and/or April 1st.   Please be advised that in response to the ongoing COVID 19 coronavirus emergency and consistent with Federal, New Jersey State and local government direction, the Department is taking every precaution to limit the possible spread of the virus.   Based on current governmental guidelines and restrictions, the MARCH 31 and April 1, 2020 Water and Wastewater exams are CANCELLED.  If you were scheduled to take an exam on either day, please do NOT report to the exam site.  Once the restrictions on gatherings and social distancing are lifted, you will be contacted with new available exam dates and locations. 

Please also be aware that the Department continues to actively monitor the rapidly changing COVID 19 emergency situation and associated restrictions.  As restrictions on gatherings and social distancing are lifted, individuals will be contacted with new available exam dates and locations.  You will NOT be required to pay any additional application fee for cancelled exams.

In light of the current emergency situation restrictions, many Department staff will be out of the office but working remotely for up to several weeks or longer.  Therefore, please be patient but assured that we will return phone calls and emails as quickly as possible.  However, critical information will also be available on the Department’s website at https://www.nj.gov/dep/exams.

In summary:

•            MARCH 31 and April 1, 2020 Water and Wastewater exams are CANCELLED - do NOT report to the exam site. 

•            When exam rooms becomes open and available, and current emergency restrictions are lifted, the Department will reschedule exams.

•            Individuals will be contacted directly with new exam dates when they are available.

•            New application fees for cancelled exams are NOT required but failure to attend a rescheduled exam will result in the $70.00 review fee.
